The story is set 300 years after a catastrophic interplanetary war known as "The Fall". It follows Alita, a deactivated female cyborg with a human brain, who is found in a scrapyard by Dr. Dyson Ido. Upon being revived, Alita has no memory of her past but discovers she possesses legendary martial arts skills and begins a journey to uncover her identity.
