The Flaming Star Nebula (IC 405) is a stunning celestial display created by the runaway O-type star AE Aurigae passing through a vast interstellar cloud. This energetic, hot star ionizes the cold hydrogen gas and reflects off interstellar dust, resulting in a vibrant nebula with both red emission and blue reflection, which will eventually vanish as the star continues its journey.

This cosmic incident began around 2.5 million years ago, when a violent collision in the Orion Nebula ejected AE Aurigae on a high-speed trajectory through the galaxy. The star is now moving at over 200,000 miles per hour, ensuring its temporary, spectacular appearance as a cosmic, fiery spectacle. Flaming Star
