Following the events of the first film, Ben Healy (John Ritter) and his adopted son, Junior (Michael Oliver), move to Mortville, the "divorcée capital of the world," for a fresh start. Ben quickly becomes the target of every single woman in town, most notably the wealthy and mean-spirited LaWanda Dumore (Laraine Newman), who wants to marry Ben and send Junior to boarding school.

However, Junior’s reign of terror faces a new challenger: Trixie Young (Ivyann Schwan), a diminutive troublemaker who is just as destructive as he is. While Ben finds himself falling for Trixie’s mother, school nurse Annie Young (Amy Yasbeck), the two "problem children" eventually join forces to sabotage Ben’s impending marriage to LaWanda.
