Proform 940s Exercise Bike Manual -
The console includes a "Target Pace" feature. It displays two columns: one for your actual pace and one for a goal pace. The manual specifically notes that the target pace is just a "goal" and you shouldn't feel pressured to match it in your first few months.
Unlike most road bikes, the 940S does not have a freewheel. This means the pedals will continue to spin as long as the internal flywheel is moving—if you try to stop your legs suddenly while going fast, the bike's momentum will force your legs to keep moving, which can be a surprise for new users.
