The hum of the CRT television in the shop downstairs vibrated through the floorboards of the Future Gadget Laboratory. Rintaro Okabe, the self-proclaimed mad scientist Hououin Kyouma, stood over a table littered with wires and half-eaten bananas.
Okabe stepped onto the balcony, looking out over the neon-soaked streets of Akihabara. To the world, it was a normal Tuesday. To him, it was a battlefield where the lines of time were shifting like sand. He remembered a girl he’d met earlier—Moeka. Her desperate, silent eyes as she messaged him about the same IBN 5100.
